Archers Celebrate Sophomore Night
The Archers Volleyball team celebrated their sophomore class in a spirited ceremony on October 23, 2025, ahead of their home match against Metropolitan Community College. The evening honored the dedication, growth, and leadership of the team's second-year student-athletes, who have helped shape the program's identity through their commitment and passion.
While the match ended in a hard-fought loss, the Archers delivered a performance full of energy and determination. Several sophomores stood out with impressive individual efforts:
- Presley Vangaasbeek led the offense with 15 kills, contributing 15.5 total points and maintaining a strong presence at the net.
- Sydney Green added 9 kills and 3 service aces, totaling 12 points and showcasing her versatility and power.
- Ava Chase ran the offense with 34 assists, keeping the team's attack fluid and competitive.
- Reese Gray anchored the defense with 18 digs, demonstrating relentless hustle in the back row.
- Zakiya Jackson posted a .400 hitting percentage with 5 kills, adding a spark to the front line.
- Emma Bell contributed 8 kills and 8 points, rounding out a balanced offensive effort.
- Megan Roley contributed defensively and added a service ace.
"These athletes gave everything they had tonight," said Head Coach Park. "Their performance reflected the heart and hustle that defines our program. We're proud of how they competed and how they've grown as teammates and leaders."
The Archers will be back on their home court for the Region 16 Division II Volleyball Tournament on Friday, October 31 at 6:00 p.m., where they will take on #2 seed East Central College. Fans are encouraged to come out and support the team as they begin their postseason run.
