Late Push Leads To Win For Women’s Soccer

The STLCC women's soccer team faced a potential district playoff team on Sunday, September 22 and came away with a key victory.  Sunday's match against the visiting Southwest Tennessee CC Saluquis was tightly played early and remained tied going into halftime.  Southwest was able to break the tie at 63:00 on a corner kick to go up 1-0.  STLCC took back the Saluquis momentum at 74:00, when Sydney Ademec tied the score on a setup from Isabella Lundberg.  The score remained 1-1 until Isabella Lundberg collected her second assist on a goal by Brea Griffonetti.  Grifonetti's goal would be the game winner, as the Archers were able to hold on for a 2-1 win.  Kelly Cates made seven saves in the victory.

With the win against Southwest Tennessee, the Archers improved to 7-1 overall.  STLCC will be back in action on Thursday, September 26 at home against Lewis and Clark CC.  Thursday's match is set for a 4:00pm start.
