The St. Louis Community College women's basketball team has an important Region 16 game with Cottey College on Saturday afternoon at 1:00 pm, on the Forest Park campus, and used Wednesday night as a perfect game to get some positive mojo heading into the game in a 100-38 victory over the Lindenwood-Belleville JV.
The Archers jumped to a 33-8 lead after one quarter and a 61-12 lead at halftime to ensure the game would not be in doubt at the final buzzer. Six Lady Archers scored in double digits, led by Chrishana Wilson who scored 21 points and pulled down 20 rebounds. Shamra Glover continued her late season surge as she scored 17 points, connecting on 6-6 from the charity stripe. Ellisha Davis scored 16 points, dished out a game high 11 assists and collected 5 steals and Shamiah Oliver added 16 points and 5 steals as well in the rout.
Saturdays game vs. Cottey will be a bust event as the Lady Archers are hosting their annual Cancer Awareness game, with a silent auction and t-shirt sales in which all proceeds will go to the St. Louis Children's Hospital. As if that was not enough, we will honor our four sophomores who have turned in a 17-8 season and are currently 5-0 in Region 16 play.
