Archers Softball Earns Major Recognition on Region 16 All-Region Team
St. Louis Community College Softball capped off a standout 2026 season with multiple players earning top honors on the NJCAA Region 16 All-Region Team, highlighted by two of the program's most prestigious individual awards.
Leading the way, Kenzie Griswold was named Region 16 Pitcher of the Year, while Reese Kieso earned Region 16 Player of the Year honors, underscoring the Archers' dominance throughout the season and their championship run.
Griswold anchored the STLCC pitching staff with exceptional poise and consistency in the circle. Her ability to command games, particularly in high-pressure postseason moments—including a dominant shutout performance in the Region 16 Championship—solidified her as the top pitcher in the region.
Kieso, a dynamic force at the top of the lineup, was recognized as the region's best overall player after delivering an outstanding season offensively and defensively. Known for her speed, consistency at the plate, and ability to spark the Archers' offense, Kieso played a critical role in STLCC's success from start to finish.
In addition to the two major award winners, four more Archers earned All-Region recognition for their impressive contributions:
- Emily Newman – A steady and powerful presence behind the plate and in the lineup, Newman consistently delivered key hits and leadership throughout the season.
- Lakota Vincent – A versatile infielder who contributed both offensively and defensively, Vincent's clutch hitting and consistency were vital to the Archers' success.
- Tataum Peery – A key offensive contributor, Peery provided timely hitting and run production, especially during postseason play.
- Riley Jo Fendler – A dependable two-way player, Fendler made significant contributions both in the circle and at the plate, adding depth and experience to the roster.
"This recognition reflects the hard work, dedication, and competitive spirit of our student-athletes," said Sharon Marquardt, STLCC AD. "Kenzie and Reese earning top honors speaks volumes about their impact, and we're incredibly proud to see six of our players recognized among the best in Region 16."
The Archers' strong representation on the All-Region Team highlights the program's excellence and depth as they continue postseason play. STLCC now turns its attention to the upcoming NJCAA Central District Tournament, where they will compete for a berth in the national tournament.
