Archers Secure #1 Seed in Region 16 Tournament
The Archers men's soccer team has clinched the #1 seed in the Region 16 Tournament after an impressive run in regional play, finishing with a record of 3-0-2. Their undefeated performance in Region 16 competition reflects the team's resilience and tactical strength heading into the postseason.
Freshman Diego Garcia Hassey and Sophomore Idris El Harrak have been instrumental in the Archers' success, each leading the team with six goals this season. Their consistent scoring and on-field leadership have set the tone for the team's competitive edge.
"Diego and Idris have been outstanding all season," said Head Coach Garza. "Their ability to find the back of the net and inspire their teammates through their work ethic and composure has been a major factor in our success. They lead not just with goals, but with heart."
The Archers have faced a challenging regular season schedule, competing against some of the top programs in the region and beyond. This rigorous slate of matches has prepared them well for the intensity of postseason play.
"We've battled through a tough schedule this year," Coach Garza added. "Every match has tested us, and I'm proud of how our team has responded. We're ready for the Region 16 Tournament and excited for what lies ahead."
As the top seed, the Archers have earned a bye in the quarterfinals and will return to the pitch on Tuesday, October 28th at 2:00 PM. The semifinal match will take place on the STLCC Florissant Valley campus, where the Archers will look to continue their dominant run.
