STLCC Archers Men’s Basketball to Host Open Tryout for Final Roster Spots
St. Louis Community College (STLCC) Archers Men's Basketball will hold open tryouts on Saturday, August 1, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the Meramec Campus Gymnasium as the program looks to fill the final two roster spots for the 2026-27 season.
Players who possess a high school diploma or GED and have at least one year of junior college eligibility remaining are invited to participate in this one-day opportunity to compete for a place in one of the region's premier NJCAA basketball programs.
The Archers enter the upcoming season with high expectations after advancing to the NJCAA Region Championship Game last spring. STLCC came within one victory of the title before falling 75-68 to North Central Missouri College in the championship contest. With several key returning players and a strong 2026 recruiting class already in place, the program is focused on taking the next step and capturing a regional championship.
"We are very confident in our roster heading into the 2026-27 season but hope to bolster our depth by identifying one or two players to strengthen the front line," said Head Coach Terry Collins. "In previous years, we have been able to bring on players whose college careers might have been paused or delayed for a variety of reasons. This is their chance to fulfill a dream deferred while returning to college and earning a degree."
The scrimmages will provide prospective student-athletes an opportunity to showcase their skills in a competitive environment while demonstrating their readiness to contribute immediately to a championship-contending program.
