STLCC Men’s Basketball Secures 76-65 Victory Over Lewis & Clark
The St. Louis Community College men's basketball team bounced back from a tough one-point loss to Rend Lake last Wednesday with a decisive 76-65 win over Lewis and Clark Community College Friday night at the Forest Park gym.
The Archers entered halftime with a 35-28 lead, but the Trailblazers fought back to briefly reclaim the advantage at 40-39. In a tense back-and-forth battle, STLCC regained control with seven minutes remaining, fueled by a string of three-pointers from Aman Kesete, Zac Goss, Zachary Winkeler, and Pat Flanagan, building an eight-point cushion that held through the final buzzer.
Kesete led the Archers with 17 points, hitting five of eight from beyond the arc. Goss added 15 points, while Darric Smith dominated the boards with six rebounds and Chris Cole contributed five assists to orchestrate the offense.
Head Coach Terry Collins reflected on the win:
"It was great to see the team respond after a tough loss on Wednesday. This win shows the potential we have when we play together and stay focused. With six returning players and a talented group of newcomers, I'm confident that as we continue to grow and build chemistry, our leadership will strengthen and set the tone for the season. We have the pieces to be successful—it's just about putting them together consistently."
The Archers now hit the road for three consecutive away games, starting with Lincoln Land Community College in Springfield, Illinois, on Wednesday, November 12, at 7:30 PM.
