St. Louis Community College baseball closed out an action‑packed weekend at the USA Baseball Complex in Millington, Tennessee, highlighted by an explosive opening‑day victory, a resilient comeback win, and a pair of tight battles decided in the late innings. The Archers finished the weekend 2–2.
Head Coach Scott Goodrich said the weekend offered "a really valuable snapshot of who we are and where we're heading."
"We showed we can punch early, punch back, and handle adversity," Goodrich said.
"Now it's about tightening up the details so we finish games the way we start them."
Archers Open Weekend with 13–1 Run‑Rule Win Over Mississippi Delta
Feb. 7 | STLCC 13, MDCC 1 (6 inn.)
St. Louis Community College set the tone immediately on Saturday, erupting for nine runs in the first inning on the way to a dominant 13–1 run-rule victory over Mississippi Delta Community College.
Despite finishing with just nine hits, the Archers capitalized on nine walks and seven MDCC errors to put the game out of reach early.
N. Bonczkows powered the offense with a two‑run home run and three walks, while M. Floyd delivered a standout 3-for-5, two-double, two-RBI, three-run performance.
M. Mitchell was sharp on the mound, working 5.0 innings with six strikeouts and only one run allowed. O. Nottingha closed the door with a clean sixth.
STLCC Rallies to Defeat Olney Central, 4–2

In the second game of Saturday's doubleheader, STLCC showed its resilience. Trailing 2–0 after the first inning, the Archers used a three‑run third—keyed by a two‑RBI swing from D. Schulte—to seize the lead.
Despite being out‑hit 7–3, STLCC manufactured timely offense and drew five walks.
On the mound, W. Merrikin battled through 3 2/3 innings before M. Carroll dominated in relief, throwing 3 1/3 scoreless innings to earn his first win of the year.
Lake Land Uses Late Inning Surge to Edge STLCC, 5–4

Sunday's opener featured another fast STLCC start, with the Archers jumping ahead 3–0 behind a two‑run homer from J. Reiter. But Lake Land responded with runs in the third, fifth, and sixth, ultimately taking a 5–4 lead they would not relinquish.
STLCC tied the game in the fifth on D. Schulte's RBI double, but Lake Land's bullpen held firm. Defensively, STLCC's three errors proved costly in the one-run loss.
Wild Shootout Ends in Walk-Off Loss to Lake Land, 13–12

The weekend finale turned into a slugfest. STLCC built leads of 6–0 and 12–6, highlighted by a six‑run fifth inning, but Lake Land stormed back with six runs in the sixth and the winning run in the seventh.
The Archers' offense delivered one of its best outings of the season:
- M. Floyd: 3-for-4, 4 RBI, HR
- J. Burle: 2-for-4, 3 RBI, triple
- N. Bonczkows: 2-for-4, 2 RBI, double, HR
STLCC totaled 10 hits and 12 runs, but 12 Lake Land walks helped fuel the comeback.
